BACK TO THE GARDEN
Music of 1965

1965 was a milestone year in music, with the influence of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, the Byrds, Motown, Simon & Garfunkel, Roger Miller, the Beach Boys, and many more. "Back to the Garden" will play acoustic versions of the songs of this era with stories weaved in by master storyteller, Robert John Hughes, of KPRI. These veteran musicians have backed artists as diverse as Chuck Berry, Kenny Loggins, Juice Newton, Johnny Cash, BJ Thomas, Billy Ray Cyrus, Waylon Jennings, the Everly Brothers, Chaka Khan, and more.

The Rice Brothers

THE RICE BROTHERS
America's Most Charismatic Virtuosos

The Rice Brothers, Johnny and Chris, are both accomplished artists as pianists and as cellists. They feature a unique blend of classical music, gospel, ragtime and boogie-woogie, along with a historical perspective of the great composers and the times in which they lived. Their interactive approach to performing is entertaining, and makes the music accessible and relevant to modern-day audiences. Winners each of gold medals in an international Chopin competition, the Rice Brothers emerged onto the world stage as inspiring artists. In 2014 they were invited to perform their debut concert in New York City’s Carnegie Hall. Their performances have been well received by audiences of all ages across the United States, from Carnegie Hall to Disneyland, and also in Europe.

SAN DIEGO CONCERT BAND
"Spring Bouquet"

Founded 28 years ago, the band is lead by conductor Roy Anthony Jr. who in 2000 served as coordinator for the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympic Games in Australia. The full band consists of over 100 members who are chosen by audition. They continue to serve the County of San Diego with band music and have acted as musical ambassadors overseas. The musical theme for this concert will be “Spring Bouquet.”

North County Winds

NCW NORTH COUNTY WIND ENSEMBLE
Bonus Concert

Under the direction of Vince Hernandez since 2002, NCW engages audiences and its members playing every genre of music including standard wind ensemble literature, marches, ballads, jazz, movie themes, show tunes and other popular music. NCW rehearses weekly, performs concerts throughout the year and supports local school music programs by mentoring younger student band members.
