QUARTETTO GELATO

International Award winning entertainers, Quartetto Gelato, not only thrills its audiences with the mastery of eight instruments, but offers the wonderfully unexpected bonus of a brilliant operatic tenor. Playing oboe, English horn, violin, mandolin, accordian, piano, cello and vocals, there program “Amore”, contains Operatic arias, Bagatelles and songs of love from Italy. For over a decade, this dazzling ensemble has enchanted audiences and critics worldwide with their exotic blend of musical virtuosity, artistic passion and charismatic presence. There 8 CD’s are shown regularly on Public Radio and TV shows, and a movie sound track.

THE “3 Gs” PIANO TEAM

“The 3 Gs” (Anna, Kirill and 15 year old daughter Anastasia Gliadkovsky) piano team is back by poplar demand! They will enthrall the audience with favorite piano masterpieces by Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Gershwin, Cohan, and more, for 2,4, and 6 hands. Anna and Kirill have performed in major concert halls throughout Russia, Europe and America. Anna holds the highest piano degree in Russia, and Kirill earned his Master’s and doctorate in piano at USC and Pepperdine, both in Ca. Reviews include “ Gripping and masterful performance, stellar, soulful openness.”

DOUG MATTOCKS – BANJO & GUITAR
January 25, 2014, Saturday, 7:30 pm

Doug took up the banjo at an early age, and at l8 went to New Orleans to learn jazz from the Old Masters. He ended up leading his own Dixieland band at the New Orleans Marriot Hotel. Doug later was bandleader for the Jerry Van Dyke Show on TV. He has performed in Las Vegas shows, the Grand Ole Opry .and a career of over 25 years with Disney. Doug was inducted into the National Four-String Banjo Hall of Fame in Guthrie, Oklahoma, in 2005. He is the only true “Master” of the 3 major styles of American popular banjo. He plays four string banjo in both tenor and plectrum styles as well as five-string Bluegrass banjo. His program is filled with humor, education, history, and sublime musicianship.

Anna Maria Mendieta

SAN DIEGO CONCERT BAND
April 5, 2014, Saturday , 7:30 pm

The San Diego Concert Band was founded 25 years ago in San Diego’s East County. They perform a wide range of music from show tunes, movie scores, and marches to concert pieces for symphonic band. They will fill the Ramona Stage with 75 of their Band members. Their conductor , Roy Anthony, Jr., has served as Conductor for the S.D. Civic Youth Orchestra, and Director and Manager of Honor Bands in San Diego and the All-State Honor Band. In 2000 he served as coordinator with the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympic Games in Australia. Roy Anthony has been honored with numerous awards for his music teaching: Teacher of the Year 1995 for State of Ca. and ”Educator Awards” from the Milken and also the Valley Forge Foundations.

RAMONA HIGH SCHOOL SYMPHONIC AND ADVANCED JAZZ BANDS
March 8th 2014, Saturday, 7:30 pm

The Ramona High School band program is under the direction of Daniel Seballos James. Mr. James has a composition degree from San Diego State University, and in 2009 received a Masters in Conducting from Southern Oregon University. Mr. James is currently serving his tenth year as band director for Ramona High School.  

Over the past ten years the band has become one of the most successful and competitive in San Diego County, winning 1st place awards at competitions and Band Festivals.
